Cricket Updates: Indian cricket team's 15-year-old batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi had to watch the entire T20 series against Afghanistan sitting on the bench. He was not included in the final eleven in all three matches. After the end of the series, now head coach Gautam Gambhir has made the team's thinking behind this decision clear. He said that Vaibhav will have to wait a while for his chance.

According to Gambhir, it is not easy to remove a player from the team who has performed well for a long time. This is the reason why at present Sanju Samson got priority over Vaibhav. The coach also made it clear that the team management has no doubt on Vaibhav's talent.
Had created a stir in Zimbabwe, still did not get a place
Vaibhav did not come empty handed in this series. In the last T20 series against Zimbabwe, he scored 151 runs in three innings and was adjudged Player of the Series. Earlier, he had made his T20 International debut for India during the England tour. Despite this, the team decided to retain the batting pair that was successful in the World Cup against Afghanistan. Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson got the responsibility of opening and both of them together scored 346 runs in the series.
Gambhir said- Removing Sanju was the most difficult decision of my career.

Gambhir described the decision to keep Sanju Samson out of the England series as the most difficult decision of his coaching career. He said that a player's poor performance in a few matches does not destroy his potential.
He said that the team's focus is on preparing the right combination keeping the upcoming T20 World Cup in mind. In such a situation, the team management wants to give adequate time to those players who have performed well for the team in the past.
Gambhir's message regarding Vaibhav was also clear. He says that whether he is 15 years old or 30 years old, every player has to wait for his chance to make a place in the team. However, when Vaibhav gets a regular opportunity, the plan is to give him a long run. Now Vaibhav's eyes will be on the Asian Games. Vaibhav is part of the Indian team for the Asian Games to be held in Nagoya and can also be seen in the practice match against Japan.
