Vaishno Devi Yatra postponed due to warning of bad weather

New Delhi, 19 July 2026: Due to warning of bad weather, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board has temporarily postponed the Vaishno Devi Yatra. According to the official notification of the Shrine Board, this decision has been taken to ensure the safety of the devotees. Devotees are advised to be patient and follow the information provided through the official channels of the Shrine Board. The yatra will be resumed as soon as the weather conditions improve.

The Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rain in some areas of Jammu and Kashmir. There is a possibility of flash floods, landslides and water logging in vulnerable areas. The administration has advised people to avoid unnecessary travel and stay away from water bodies. This year the number of pilgrims visiting the holy cave temple of Vaishno Devi has crossed the mark of 50 lakhs.
