Varanasi gears up for global stage with CCXP Mexico 2026 premiere

SS Rajamouli’s upcoming magnum opus Varanasi, starring Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran, is set to make its first major international appearance at CCXP Mexico 2026, signaling its ambition as a true global cinematic event. The film will be unveiled on April 24 at the Thunder Stage, one of the convention’s flagship platforms, in a dedicated panel titled “Varanasi to the World.”

The presentation will feature a special preview of the film, a curated behind‑the‑scenes (BTS) clip made exclusively for the attendees, and a video message from director SS Rajamouli. Audiences will also get to see early glimpses of the film’s grand scale, world‑building and high‑octane sequences, followed by an interactive Q&A session with the team. The event is being organized by SS Karthikeya, who will host the panel, further amplifying the project’s profile among pop‑culture fans in Latin America.

CCXP Mexico, one of Latin America’s largest pop‑culture festivals, brings together cinema, television, comics, gaming and cosplay, making it an ideal launchpad for Varanasi’s global rollout. By choosing this platform, the makers are clearly positioning the film beyond the Indian market, aiming to build early worldwide buzz ahead of its scheduled theatrical release on April 7, 2027, including wide IMAX screenings

Even before the CCXP debut, Varanasi has generated massive excitement through its high‑voltage launch event and BTS material, including a viral mechanical‑bull entry by Mahesh Babu and early character introductions for Priyanka Chopra as Mandakini and Prithviraj Sukumaran as Kumbha. Additional BTS videos and promotional clips have already showcased the technical finesse and visual ambition behind the film’s unfolding universe.

With Varanasi strategically targeting international pop‑culture festivals like CCXP Mexico, SS Rajamouli and the production team are treating the project not just as a film but as a global cinematic experience long before its release.
