BCCI informed on Sunday that star spinner Varun Chakraborty has been ruled out of the entire series due to injury. According to the board, he suffered an injury to his left leg during IPL 2026 and is currently undergoing the final stages of rehabilitation at the BCCI Center of Excellence (COE).

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said in its statement that Varun Chakravarthy needs additional time to be fully fit. At present no player has been announced as his replacement. Varun is one of the leading T20 bowlers of India. He has taken 73 wickets in 45 T20 International matches so far. His best performance in this format has been 17 runs for 5 wickets.

Team India will field under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer

Ireland tour is also going to be special for Shreyas Iyer. He will captain the Indian team for the first time in T20 International. The team includes players like Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson, Ishan Kishan, Tilak Verma, Shivam Dubey, Akshar Patel and Arshdeep Singh. There will be 2 T20s in Ireland, with the first T20 on June 26 and the second T20 on June 28.
