Keeping in mind the family needs of its officers and employees, the newly constructed Vatsalya Jhulaghar (Day-Care Center) with a capacity of 60 children was inaugurated by Director General of Police Shri Kailash Makwana at Police Public School, Nehru Nagar for the care of small children of women police personnel. The facility of swing house will provide convenience and relief to the police officers and employees in taking care of small children while on duty.
On this occasion, Director General of Police Shri Kailash Makwana said that in the police department, women officers and employees at various ranks including women constables, women sub-inspectors, DSPs are discharging their responsibilities. At present, the situation of both husband and wife being employed is also normal. Earlier, in the joint family system, grandparents or other family members used to take care of the children, but in changing times, one has to stay out of the family for job. In such a situation, taking care of small children is an important need. He said that it is very important to take proper care of the small children of police officers and employees, so that they can discharge their duties without any worries. The nature of police service is such that many times one has to do duty for a long period, stay on duty till late night and even on the occasion of festivals, policemen have to discharge their responsibilities.
In such circumstances, a facility like a swing house will not only ensure the care of children but will also help the police officers and employees to concentrate better on their duties. The Director General of Police said that proper arrangement for child care is an important facility for police families. With this, especially women police officers and employees will be able to establish better coordination between their family responsibilities and professional responsibilities.
