Defeat death! Amidst 2200 deaths in Venezuela, a person emerged alive from the debris after 8 days; Know how this ‘miracle’
Venezuela Earthquake Latest News In Hindi: While the recent devastating earthquake in Venezuela turned thousands of houses into debris and took the lives of more than 2200 people, a ray of hope has emerged from under the debris which has surprised the entire world.
Eight days after the massive earthquake that struck June 24, rescue teams rescue the ‘Gallerias Playa Grande’ Hernan Alberto Gil Flores, a 43-year-old security guard, was pulled out alive from the basement of the shopping center. It is being considered one of the most difficult and miraculous rescue operations of this century.
It took more than 100 hours
Pulling Hernan out of the debris was no easy task. Rescue workers worked non-stop for more than 100 hours to find and free them. The biggest challenge of this operation was the unstable structure, heavy rains and continuous aftershocks.
Not only Venezuelan teams, but also expert teams from Chile, America, Portugal, Mexico, Costa Rica and El Salvador worked day and night in this rescue operation.
How was life saved in the cabin of death?
Hernan Gil Flores worked as a night-shift guard at that shopping complex. When the massive 7.2 and 7.5 magnitude earthquakes hit, Hernan was inside his small security cabin. Luckily, although the heavy concrete structure collapsed, his cabin remained intact, creating a small space for ventilation and he was saved from being buried under the debris.

There was a request not to tell his wife
An emotional moment during the rescue came when the Costa Rican Red Cross team reached Hernan. Hernan, out of fear, told the rescuers not to tell his wife that he was alive, because they feared he might not survive until he got out. However, his wife Gusbimar Gonzalez did not give up. She told that when she came to know that her husband was alive, she felt a ‘ray of hope in the darkness’. Appeared.
time spent drawing
Despite being buried under the debris, Hernan did not lose his courage. Rescue teams monitored them through telescopic cameras and supplied them with water and liquid nutrients through a narrow passage. In the last hours of the rescue he was drawing to pass the time, to distract himself from the fear. Chilean firefighters advised him to wear goggles and stay calm so that falling debris would not damage his eyes.

Usually, in any disaster, the hope of survival ends after 48 to 72 hours, but Hernan created history by fighting death for 8 days.
