Venttup has raised $3 Mn in a Pre-Series A round co-led by Rainmatter by Zerodha and Unicorn India Ventures to expand its precision manufacturing capabilities
The startup helps businesses develop components, localise production, and find manufacturing partners that can meet the technical requirements of moving from prototypes to commercial production
Venttup’s revenue reached ₹10 Cr in FY26, up 5X since its 2024 seed round, while its business opportunity pipeline stood at around ₹30 Cr
For hardware and deeptech startups, the challenge does not end with a working prototype. Moving to commercial production requires manufacturing partners that can consistently meet technical specifications at scale.
Bengaluru-based WAIT UP is helping businesses bridge this gap. Founded in 2021 by Sandeep Nair, M. Wasim Ankli, and Joseph Panakkal, the startup combines in-house engineering with a network of manufacturing partners, primarily MSMEs, to support component development, testing, and production.
It has raised $3 Mn in a Pre-Series A round led by Rainmatter by Zerodha and Unicorn India Ventures. The capital will fund engineering hires, precision manufacturing and rapid prototyping infrastructure, and AI adoption for B2B sourcing, supplier intelligence, and operational efficiency.
From Prototypes To Production
Venttup works with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), technology companies, and deeptech startups, including businesses seeking domestic alternatives to imported components.
Customers can approach it with designs or component requirements. Venttup coordinates engineering, supplier selection and qualification, prototype testing, quality inspections, and production.
Its capabilities span precision machining, casting and forging, sheet metal fabrication, box builds, special purpose machines, industrial automation, and robotics.
“India’s next phase of manufacturing growth requires strong engineering capabilities that can translate complex requirements into validated, production-ready components,” said cofounder and CEO Nair.
“At Venttup, we are building an engineering-first manufacturing startup that brings together design standardisation, rapid prototyping, testing and scalable production through India’s capable MSME ecosystem,” he added.
Venttup operates across four verticals: energy transition and data centres; aerospace, defence, and space systems; smart infrastructure and future mobility; and electronics, automation, and smart manufacturing.
Building A Commercial Base
Incubated at Kerala Startup Mission, Venttup’s founding team brings experience across Hitachi Energy, Siemens, L&T, and Kalpataru Power.
Since its undisclosed seed round in 2024, revenue has grown fivefold to ₹10 Cr in FY26, the startup said. It added more than 15 blue-chip customers over the past 12 months and built an approximately ₹30 Cr business opportunity pipeline across new energy, mobility, and smart infrastructure.
The fresh funding will help the startup expand its manufacturing capabilities and support customers from product development to production.
Venttup’s services overlap with Zetwerk’s precision manufacturing operations and CapGrid’s component sourcing, localisation, and manufacturing services. Karkhana is another peer in taking hardware products into production, with a stronger electronics manufacturing focus.

Inc42 Take: Can Venttup Become More Than A Sourcing Partner?
Venttup’s opportunity lies in taking responsibility for the engineering, validation, and manufacturing work that sits between a component design and commercial production. Its planned Bengaluru facility could give it greater control over this process, while its MSME network offers access to a wider range of manufacturing capabilities.
The test is whether customers see lasting value in keeping Venttup involved once a component is validated and production stabilises. Consistent quality, delivery, and support for subsequent product development will matter more than access to suppliers alone.
Winning repeat production contracts will be the clearest test of whether Venttup can become a long-term manufacturing partner rather than a supplier customers use only during product development.
