Ashok Pandit expressed grief
Producer Ashok Pandit has expressed condolences on the demise of Bharat Kapoor. Ashok Pandit has confirmed the news of his demise by sharing the picture of the veteran actor on his Instagram story. He wrote, “Sad to know about the demise of veteran theater and film actor Bharat Kapoor ji. I have very fond memories of working with him in the early days of my career. A great human being. Om Shanti.”
The actor was ill for three days
Bharat Kapoor died at Sion Hospital in Mumbai at around 3:30 pm. His last rites were performed at 6:30 pm in the presence of family members and close friends. Actor and his close friend Avtar Gill told India Today, “I have just returned from the crematorium, where the last rites took place at 6:30 pm. He passed away today at around 3 pm in the hospital. He was not well for the last three days. For the last few days, many organs of his body had stopped functioning.”
Ruled the screen for four decades
Bharat Kapoor started his career in the film industry in 1972 and dominated the screen for almost four decades. Bharath was known for supporting roles and villainous roles. He became a well-known face in Hindi cinema in the 1970s, 80s and 90s. He acted in several notable films including Noori (1979), Ram Balram (1980), Love Story (1981), Bazaar (1982), Ghulami (1985), Aakhri Raasta (1986), Satyamev Jayate (1987), Swarg (1990), Khuda Gawah (1992), and Rang (1993).

Apart from this, Bharat Kapoor appeared in films like ‘Barsaat’ (1995), ‘Saajan Chale Sasural’ (1996), and ‘Meenakshi: A Tale of Three Cities’ (2004), in which he showed his ability to adapt himself to every era. Apart from films, Bharat Kapoor also made his mark on television through TV shows like ‘Campus’, ‘Parampara’, ‘Rahat’, ‘Saans’, ‘Amanat’, ‘Tara’, ‘Chunauti’ and ‘Kahaani Chandrakanta Ki’. His versatility allows him to work between different mediums with ease.
