Veteran musician Pyarelal’s wife Sunila Sharma passes away, breathed her last at the age of 78

Desk. Sunila Pyarelal Sharma, wife of Indian cinema veteran and evergreen musician Pyarelal, passed away on 12 July 2026. He said goodbye to this world at the age of 78. This sad news was announced through an emotional social media post issued by the family, in which it was told that he breathed his last peacefully in the presence of his family. Bollywood singer Priyanka Mitra has shared this official statement of the family on social media, after which there is a wave of mourning in the film and music world.

In the condolence message shared by the family, Sunila Sharma was remembered for her gracious behaviour, compassion and selfless love. Along with this, gratitude has been expressed to all the well-wishers who supported us in these difficult times. The statement read, ‘With a heavy heart and immense love, we are reporting the demise of our beloved ‘Amma’ Sunila Pyarelal Sharma, who departed for heaven on July 12, 2026, surrounded by her family. Amma’s life was an example of dignity, devotion and calm willpower, she was a pillar of unconditional love for all who knew her. Even though our hearts are heavy today, we take solace in the fact that he is now in ultimate peace. At the end of this message, Sharma, Nathani, Sirur and Haldipur family have expressed gratitude for everyone’s prayers.




  • The family has also shared information regarding the last rites of Sunila Sharma. His last rites will be performed today i.e. on 13th July at Dattatraya Road cremation ground in Santa Cruz, Mumbai. Many veteran actors, singers and relatives of the film industry are expected to reach Mumbai to console Pyarelal and his family in this sad time and bid final farewell to Sunila ji.

    Pyarelal Sharma is one of the most respected and loved music composers in the history of Indian cinema. He along with late Laxmikant Shantaram Kudalkar formed the historic duo of ‘Laxmikant-Pyarelal’, which ruled the music of Hindi cinema for many decades. This pair gave many such timeless tunes and evergreen songs to Bollywood which are still on people’s lips even today. The list of iconic films decorated with his music includes hundreds of superhit films like ‘Bobby’, ‘Karz’, ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’, ‘Satyam Shivam Sundaram’, ‘Hero’, ‘Mr India’, ‘Ram Lakhan’, ‘Tezaab’, ‘Ek Duje Ke Liye’ and ‘Utsav’.
