Vice President gave gold medals to the meritorious in Raipur AIIMS, praised Chhattisgarh free from Naxalism

Vice President CP Radhakrishnan reached Raipur on Wednesday on his Chhattisgarh tour. As part of a one-day visit, he participated in the third convocation of Raipur AIIMS. Elaborate security arrangements have been made for his arrival in Raipur. The Vice President also presented gold medals and certificates to the meritorious students during the convocation ceremony.

Addressing the students, Vice President CP Radhakrishnan described All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Raipur as a symbol of this change and spoke about its achievements in the field of advanced healthcare, research and transplantation, including the state’s first swap kidney transplant.

He talked about Chhattisgarh’s move away from the environment of Naxalism, fear and deprivation towards peace, progress and opportunities. He said that in areas where violence was once prevalent, today roads, schools, hospitals, connectivity and investment are being seen.

Due to the arrival of the Vice President in the city, tight security arrangements have been made from Sarona Ring Road to Tatibandh Chowk in the capital. Barricades have been installed at various places on Ring Road number one. Along with this, patients coming for treatment in Raipur AIIMS OPD were given entry from gate number one. Patients and their relatives can go for OPD from gate number three.

Due to parking arrangements at gate number one, patients will have to walk a long distance to reach the registration counter. Gate number two will also have to be used for trauma-emergency. Earlier, patients used to go to the registration counter through gate number four, which has been kept closed on September 2 due to VIP movement. Same situation will prevail at gate number five also. Police forces have been deployed at every nook and corner.

On this occasion, Chhattisgarh Governor Ramen Deka, Union Minister of State Anupriya Patel, Chhattisgarh Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, Raipur MP Brijmohan Agarwal, AIIMS Raipur President Prof. (Dr.) Sanjeev Handa and Executive Director retired Lieutenant General Ashok Jindal were present.

Let us tell you that All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Raipur was established in the year 2012. Its foundation stone was laid in May 2009 and the institute became functional in 2012.
