There was a huge uproar at the Cine and TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA) office in Mumbai on Friday. The dispute between the artists associated with the organization increased so much that the police had to be called on the spot. In the video going viral, many actors including Poonam Dhillon, Upasana Singh, Padmini Kolhapure and Kunika Sadanand are seen having a heated argument with each other. When the atmosphere deteriorated, the police intervened and tried to calm everyone down.
Controversy started regarding documents
It is being told that this whole controversy started over the official papers and files of CINTAA. Actress Kunika Sadanand had recently alleged that the official files and documents of the organization were kept in Poonam Dhillon’s car and taken out.

After this, some members present in the CINTAA office asked questions to Padmini Kolhapure about this. In the video that has surfaced, she is asked whether she is admitting to carrying the documents. On this, Padmini is seen talking about showing the letter related to the dissolution of the committee. During this time she claims that her data has been ‘stolen’.
Whereas, in another video, Poonam Dhillon is seen expressing her displeasure over her car being searched. The video was reportedly recorded by Kunika Sadanand. During this time, an argument starts between the two and the matter becomes very heated.
Police reprimanded the artists
As the argument escalated, the policemen tried to pacify everyone. In the video, the police can be heard saying that they are not on any side in this dispute and for them all people are equal. Seeing the atmosphere worsening, a policeman reprimanded the artistes and said that they should take care of their reputation as people are watching them. The policeman also said that they are giving respect to everyone, but there is a limit to it.

In another video, Upasana Singh allegedly talks about recalling the documents already sent. On this the policemen say that it is not their job to recall the documents. If the documents have been tampered with, the Labor Commission can ask the parties concerned to produce them.
Controversy is already going on in CINTAA
This dispute within CINTAA has been going on for some time. In August, a total of 11 members of the 21-member elected committee, including 8 elected representatives, had resigned. In the joint letter, the resigning members had raised issues related to collective decision making, consultation and constitutional process in the functioning of the organization.
Upasana Singh had claimed that the committee has been dissolved after 50 percent of the elected panel members resigned. However, Poonam Dhillon opposed this claim.

Controversy also increased regarding elections
Meanwhile, Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) had demanded new elections in CINTAA. After this, Poonam Dhillon and Padmini Kolhapure had approached the court to stay the elections, but their petition was rejected.
Now allegations have come to light regarding an alleged attempt to smuggle out CINTAA’s official documents just before the elections scheduled to be held on September 12. Amidst this controversy, the matter is again in the headlines after the video of the heated argument between the artists in the office and the rebuke by the police surfaced.
