Vietnam Boat Tragedy: 15 Indians died in Vietnam boat accident, Prime Minister and President expressed grief
Deadly Vietnam Boat Tragedy News: A very terrible and fatal marine accident has occurred off the coast of An Giang province of Vietnam. Due to bad sea conditions here, a tourist speedboat suddenly capsized in deep water on Saturday. 15 Indian tourists have tragically died on the spot in this very tragic boat accident. This news is considered very sad and heartbreaking for both India and Vietnam.
A total of 32 Indian tourists, a Vietnamese tour guide and three crew members were on board the boat for the trip. 19 people were rescued safely immediately after the accident, but the condition of some is still very critical. The Vietnamese leaders have expressed their deepest sympathies to the people of India and the bereaved families of the deceased. Rescue and relief operations continue
Top Vietnamese officials immediately began a large-scale search-and-rescue operation. All necessary steps are being taken by the government to ensure proper and good medical treatment of the injured. The officials have assured the families of the victims of this accident of providing all possible help from their side. The concerned agencies have started their high level investigation to find out the true and exact cause of the accident as soon as possible.
Compensation announced
Tran Minh Khoa, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Phu Quoc Special Zone, has given very important and detailed information about the compensation. The owner of the tourist boat has promised to pay a huge compensation of US $ 1,000 to the families of each person who died. Apart from this, financial compensation of US$ 500 will also be given to each injured passenger immediately. Authorities in An Giang province and the Phu Quoc Special Zone will also provide a large sum of 26 million Vietnamese dong, or about $1,000, to the families of the dead.
Conversation between foreign ministers
Vietnam’s Foreign Minister Le Hoi Trung also met India’s Foreign Minister Dr. S. Has sent his special condolence message to Jaishankar. Police officers and the medical team are working very quickly to correctly identify the victims and complete all the necessary paperwork. Officials are making continuous efforts in coordination with diplomatic representatives there to bring back the bodies of the deceased to India. As per the wishes of the families of the deceased tourists, all further necessary arrangements will be made very soon on priority basis.
