Thailand topped the list, followed by Indonesia, Japan, based on accommodation search data from April 1 to June 30, 2026, for stays between July 1 and Aug. 31.
Malaysia rounded out the top five.
July and August mark Europe’s peak summer holiday season, when school breaks prompt millions of travelers to head abroad.
This year’s travel period also follows an early-season heatwave that brought unusually high temperatures across much of the continent, boosting the appeal of destinations with coastlines, islands and diverse outdoor experiences.

With a 3,260-kilometer coastline, vibrant cities, sandy beaches, islands and rich cultural attractions, Vietnam is well positioned to attract European travelers seeking a varied summer getaway, Agoda said.
According to data from the General Statistics Office, Vietnam welcomed 13.9 million international visitors in the first seven months of 2026, an increase of 13.8% year-on-year.
European visitor arrivals to Vietnam surged 53.4% year-on-year to more than 2.35 million in the first seven months of 2026, making Europe the country’s fastest-growing tourism source market.
Some European markets posted positive growth, including Poland (51.3%), the Czech Republic (28.6%), Sweden (24.7%), and Switzerland (21.7%).
All these nations benefit from Vietnam’s visa-exemption policy.
