Vigilance Bureau's big attack on corruption in Punjab, 1091 cases registered in 4 years, 1138 accused arrested

Punjab Vigilance Action: With the Punjab Government adopting a zero tolerance policy against corruption, the Vigilance Bureau has registered a total of 1091 cases from March 16, 2022 to July 31, 2026, in which 1138 accused have been arrested. Apart from this, a total of 298 vigilance investigations were registered during this period and 242 accused have been convicted by the courts in 150 corruption cases.

Punjab Vigilance Bureau spokesperson said that 630 accused were arrested in 523 trap cases during the said period. Similarly, during the said period, 492 accused were arrested in 536 criminal cases and 16 persons were arrested in 32 disproportionate assets cases.

He further informed that during the said period, vigilance investigations were registered in 117 cases of disproportionate assets and 181 other vigilance investigations were also registered.
