Vigilance increased regarding Ebola, 3 people returned from African countries quarantined in the fort

Raipur:Health agencies in India have also become alert amid reports of increase in cases of Ebola virus in some countries of Africa. The Chhattisgarh government has claimed that the state is fully prepared to deal with any possible infection and all necessary precautionary measures have already been implemented.

What did the Health Minister say?

Apart from this, State Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal said that the Health Department is continuously monitoring for the last one month. He said that hospitals, isolation wards and quarantine centers have been equipped with necessary resources so that immediate action can be taken in case of any emergency.

According to the Health Minister, three foreign nationals have been kept in quarantine in Durg district as a precautionary measure. All of them have come from African countries but at present Ebola infection has not been confirmed in them nor have any symptoms been found. Despite this, the health department is continuously monitoring them.

Symptoms found in Jaipur

However, in Rajasthan too, vigilance has increased after a suspicious case with Ebola-like symptoms was reported. A woman who reached Jaipur from Uganda has been admitted to the hospital and kept in isolation after suspicious symptoms were found during investigation. His samples have been sent to a special laboratory for detailed testing and the report is awaited.

The central government has also advised citizens to avoid non-essential travel to countries like Congo, Uganda and South Sudan. At the same time, the World Health Organization (WHO) has taken seriously the Ebola infection spreading in African countries and has described it as a matter of concern at the international level. According to experts, Ebola is a serious viral disease, which can spread through contact with an infected person. In this disease, symptoms like high fever, weakness and bleeding can be seen. However, no confirmed case of the current strain of this virus has been reported in India so far.
