After becoming the Chief Minister, Vijay made it clear that the entire focus of his government will be on issues related to the common people. He said that basic facilities like education, health and drinking water would be given priority so that every section can get direct benefits.

Announcement of 200 units of free electricity

In the first decision of the government, giving great relief to the people of the state, it was announced to provide 200 units of free electricity. It is believed that this decision will provide financial help to lakhs of families. Along with this, the government has also indicated to give priority to the interests of the poor and middle class.

Task force will be formed against drugs

In view of the increasing drug menace in the state, the Vijay government has decided to form a special task force. The Chief Minister directed the officials to launch a strict campaign to save the youth from drugs and take strict action against those doing illegal business.

Special emphasis on women’s safety

The government has also taken big steps regarding the safety of women. Vijay has ordered to start special security forces and helpline. The government says that providing a safe environment to women will be its primary responsibility.

After taking oath, Vijay addressed the public in an emotional manner. He started the speech with his popular Tamil phrase ‘En Nenjil Kudiyirukkum’. Recalling his struggles, he said that he does not come from a political family, but is the son of an assistant director who has seen poverty and hardships closely. He said that the public has adopted him like a son and brother and he will try his best to live up to the expectations of the people.
