Insurgent attacks continue in the northeastern Indian state of Manipur. At least four people, including two women, were killed in two separate attacks by suspected militants in Tamenglong and Noni districts of the state on Sunday.
Local police said the terrorist attack in Tamenglong took place around 4 am on Sunday morning, killing two people, while the second incident took place about 12 hours after the first incident and also killed two people.
Police gave information about both terrorist attacks
According to a news agency report, police said suspected militants attacked a house in Tolen Kuki village, which is located near National Highway 37 connecting Imphal to Jiribam. Lingangai Singsit was killed, while her husband, Seinai Singsit, and their newborn son were injured. Security forces reached the village and provided medical aid to the injured. Seinai later died on the way to a hospital in Silchar in neighboring Assam, officials said.
In another incident, armed militants shot dead a woman and a man in Longpi village under the jurisdiction of Nongba Police Station on Sunday (September 13, 2026) at 3:30 pm. Police said the deceased have been identified as Julie Gangte and R. It has happened as Gangte.
Violence against innocent citizens is cowardice – Chief Minister
Manipur Chief Minister Y. Khemchand Singh expressed grief over the loss of life in both the incidents and said that violence against innocent civilians is cowardice. Such heinous acts are completely unacceptable and have no place in our society.
