Virat Kohli’s spokesperson denies Rs5 crore claim over Premanand Ji visit

A claim about Virat Kohli’s visit to spiritual leader Premanand Ji Maharaj in Vrindavan had drawn attention after it was alleged that the cric

keter was paid Rs5 crore for the visit. Kohli’s spokesperson later rejected the claim and said his visits were linked to his personal faith.

The allegation had been made by Falahari Maharaj Dinesh Sharma, who claimed that money had been spent to facilitate Kohli’s visit and increase the popularity of Premanand Ji Maharaj.

Kohli’s spokesperson strongly denied the allegation and said there was no truth in the claim.

The statement read, “We would like to categorically state that the claims made by Falahari Maharaj Dinesh Sharma in regards to Mr. Virat Kohli are completely false, baseless and factually incorrect. Mr. Virat Kohli visits Premanand Maharaj Ji purely out of his deep faith and reverence for Maharaj Ji.”

The spokesperson further said, “We strongly refute these claims and urge the media to exercise due diligence, verify facts before reporting or amplifying such statements, and report responsibly.”

Kohli had visited Premanand Ji Maharaj’s ashram in Vrindavan with his wife, actress Anushka Sharma, on several occasions. Their visits had been publicly seen through photographs and videos shared online.

The couple’s association with Premanand Ji Maharaj had dated back to 2023. They had returned to the ashram on multiple occasions after their first visit.

The Rs5 crore claim had reportedly been linked to Kohli’s first meeting with the spiritual leader. Dinesh Sharma, who was also known as Falahari Maharaj and served as president of the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Sangharsh Nyas, had made the allegation while discussing the visit.

However, no verified evidence or official document had been presented to establish that Kohli had received Rs5 crore for visiting Premanand Ji Maharaj.

Kohli’s spokesperson’s response had therefore rejected the allegation and maintained that the cricketer’s visits were based on his faith and respect for the spiritual leader.
