Diwali is just a few days away, and Bollywood Diwali parties are going on in full swing. Priyanka Chopra hosted a Diwali party at her residence in LA, which was attended by the who’s who of Hollywood, influencers, and more. However, netizens were in disbelief when they saw Sanya Malhotra posing with Priyanka Chopra. Sanya ditched the traditional outfit and gave a bold twist to Diwali couture.
Sanya looked hot in a black bralette top and matching mini skort, adorned with intricate gold zardozi embroidery, as she attended Priyanka Chopra’s Diwali party in Los Angeles. Sanya uploaded a series of glam pictures accompanied by the caption, “The song is for the last slide, obviously. A very golden Diwali in LA”.
She paired her matching high-waisted mini skirt with a cape. The floor-length black cape featured bold gold stripes, intricate embroidered borders, and elaborate motifs along the sleeves and hemline. The cape created a striking contrast against the structured two-piece ensemble. Its flowing silhouette lent the outfit a theatrical appeal while retaining its traditional design elements.
Sanya shared a series of photos on her social media. However, she deleted a particular picture that appeared racy and was considered too revealing by some netizens. Netizens slammed Sanya for her choice of outfit and called her out for choosing a rather bold and revealing neckline instead of wearing a traditional outfit. Take a look at the pictures.

Model Winnie Harlow embraced the occasion in a bold red lehenga, while singer Rhea Raj brought a contemporary, saree-inspired look to the party. YouTuber Lilly Singh was also among the guests who joined the couple for the festivities.
For the Diwali soirée, Priyanka wore an off-shoulder deep burgundy gown that gave traditional Indian embellishments a contemporary red-carpet makeover. The fitted silhouette featured a structured corset-style bodice with an off-the-shoulder neckline, drawing attention to her shoulders and collarbone. Intricate zardozi, gold-thread embroidery and delicate beaded tassels covered the gown, creating a rich, ornate finish that felt tailor-made for a Diwali bash. A slim drape across the neckline brought a subtle dupatta-inspired touch to the gown’s modern construction, giving it a desi girl feel.
? Manish Malhotra designed this outfit for Sanya Malhotra for Diwali, but honestly, what a terrible choice for a festive outfit.
When these people fail to lecture us about our festivals, they start influencing people into wearing outfits like this to celebrate Diwali. Absolutely shameless, Sanya!

Rather than piling on layers of heavy jewellery, Priyanka donned a pair of dangling ruby earrings, a tiny kundan maang tikka and a stack of gold kadas that accentuated the gown and let its craftsmanship shine. Her makeup followed the gown’s colour palette, with a berry-toned lip, smoky eyes and warm, highlighted cheeks. She wore her hair in a sleek low bun, softened with a fresh white gajra and a hair ornament that stood out beautifully against the dark outfit.
Nick complemented Priyanka’s richly embellished look in a cream-and-white kurta set featuring subtle embroidery. His understated festive outfit balanced her dramatic gown while keeping the couple’s coordinated appearance rooted in traditional Indian dressing.
However, Priyanka’s choice of outfit did not go down well with some netizens either, with several calling her look ugly.
