War broke out as soon as Hormuz waterway was closed! America attacked 140 targets of Iran, fired missiles on UAE-Qatar
New Delhi: Tension has once again reached its peak in the Middle East. After Iran’s announcement to close the Strait of Hormuz, America took massive retaliatory military action. The US Army targeted about 140 military bases of Iran. In response, Iran launched missile and drone attacks towards the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Qatar, Bahrain and Kuwait, due to which high alert was declared in the entire Gulf region.
Tension increased due to closure of Hormuz waterway
Iran claimed that some ships were not following its instructions. After this the Revolutionary Guards announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz until further notice. This waterway is counted among the most important sea routes for the supply of oil and gas in the world. Due to its closure, the possibility of impact on the global energy market has also increased.
America’s big military operation
The US launched a massive military operation following the closure of the waterway and an alleged attack on a cargo ship. According to the US Central Command (CENTCOM), about 140 targets including missile bases, drone bases, naval facilities, weapons stores, communication networks and coastal surveillance centers were targeted during the operation. America says that the purpose of this action is to ensure the security of sea routes.
Iran retaliated against Gulf countries
Hours after the American attacks, Iran started retaliating in the Gulf region. Missile attack warning was issued in United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain and Kuwait. The sounds of explosions were heard at many places, while air defense systems were activated in an attempt to stop the missiles and drones. Security agencies appealed to the people to remain alert and go to safe places.
Crisis on ceasefire deepens
The recent developments have also dealt a blow to the already ongoing ceasefire efforts. A few weeks ago, talks were held between the two countries to reduce the conflict, but now the situation seems to be worsening again.
Experts believe that if tension continues to increase like this, it could affect not only the Middle East but also global oil supply and international trade. At present, military activities are intense in the entire region and the eyes of the world are fixed on which direction the situation will move in the coming days.
