Warriors HC Steve Kerr delivers warning to NBA ticket-buyers

Stephen Curry is one of the biggest draws in the NBA. But if you want to see him live this season, his coach suggests you check the schedule first.

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr warned fans to “be mindful” of whether his team was on a back-to-back before buying tickets hoping to see Curry, because the 38-year-old is going to be resting a lot.

Stephen Curry will be treated cautiously by Golden State Warriors

Curry played only 43 games last season, missing all of February and March due to a condition called “runner’s knee.” He also played in only both games of a back-to-back five times in 2025-26.

That may be five more times than Curry suits up for both ends of a back-to-back this season. At age 38, Curry needs more rest and care. That’s why Kerr has committed to resting Curry more, and even keeping him below his usual limit of 32 minutes early in the season, which Kerr calls his “pitch count.”
