Washington Sundar-Sudharsan Powers Gujarat Titans to 168/5 vs SRH

Despite an early collapse, a solid knock from Sai Sudharsan and Washington Sundar powers the Gujarat Titans to post 168 runs in the IPL 2026 game played at Ahmedabad.

Both smashed fifties for the side, helping them post a decent score against Hyderabad in Tuesday’s clash.

After being invited to bat first, Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill opened the innings while Pat Cummins opened the bowling attack.

The openers did not get a required start as Praful Hinge bagged the wicket of Shubman Gill for 5 runs. He got dismissed on a catch from Heinrich Klaasen at mid-on putting Gujarat Titans on back foot.

Jos Buttler who came to bat at no.3 couldn’t make impact as Praful Hinge bagged his second wicket. He got dismissed while attempting sweep shot as the ball edged and went to Ishan Kishan behind the wickets.

With losing two top order batters, Gujarat Titans were in trouble as they lost two wickets for 26 runs.

However, Nishant Sindhu who came to bat at No.4, joined Sai Sudharsan and showed early glimpse with delicate shots.

With Sai Sudharsan and Nishant Sindhu at crease, Gujarat Titans scored only 34 runs in the powerplay.

The duo forged a mini partnership as they 30-run partnership before a break by the end of 8th over. However, Pat Cummins bagged the wicket of Nishant Sindhu for 22 runs.

He got dismissed on a catch from Heinrich Klaasen after hitting the ball in long-off. With his dismissal, Gujarat Titans lost three wickets for 64 runs.

However, Sai Sudharsan made a solid fifty and scored 61 runs off 44 deliveries before being dismissed by Sakib Hussain. He got dismissed after attempting a scoop shot but mistimes, where Praful Hinge picked the catch at short third man.

Washington Sundar smashed his fifty off 32 deliveries setting up the side to post a decent score in their innings.

With Rahul Tewatia and Jason Holder on crease, Gujarat Titans scored 168/5 with Sai Sudharsan and Washington Sundar being the highest scorers for the side.

Sakib Hussain and Praful Hinge bagged two wickets each while Pat Cummins completed his spell with 1 wicket.
