Gujarat Titans defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 82 runs, becoming the first franchise to make it to the playoffs in the ongoing season of the cash-rich league. With 16 points from 12 contests, the Shubman Gill-led team has confirmed their place in the next round. They are currently leading the standings in the IPL 2026. After scoring 168 for 5, the Titans dismissed SRH for 86 runs in 14.5 overs.
Travis Head failed to open his account and was dismissed by Mohammed Siraj. Kagiso Rabada was unstoppable as he sent back Abhishek Sharma (6), Ishan Kishan (11) and Ravichandran Smaran (9)
When Jason Holder got rid of Heinrich Klaasen (14), it was all over for the visiting team at the Narendra Modi Stadium on May 12. On the other hand, Sundar managed 50 runs in 33 balls, laced with 7 boundaries and 1 six. Holder (11) and Rahul Tewatia (4) were in the middle till the last ball of the innings. Praful and Sakib Hussain claimed two wickets each, while one scalp went to Pat Cummins.
Hyderabad are in third spot with 14 points from 12 contests. Both teams will play two more league matches before the start of the playoff round.
