During the ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ program at Tagore Theater here today, students securing first three positions from all the districts in classes 8th, 10th and 12th were felicitated. Need for comprehensive reforms in examination system

Former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi and Punjab in-charge Manish Sisodia stressed the need for comprehensive reforms in the examination system of the country. He said, “The outdated examination system in the country should be changed. Incidents like the leak of exams like NEET are ruining the future of millions of students. Instead of relying on the 19th century system, the exams should evaluate the overall aptitude and abilities of the students and not be limited to a three-hour exam.”

Education revolution of Bhagwant Mann government gave excellent results

Punjab’s education revolution has started giving great results across the state. In NITI Aayog’s school education assessment, Punjab’s government schools have topped across the country, beating many traditionally better performing states. This year, 359 students from Schools of Eminence and other government schools have qualified for JEE Main, while the government has also partnered with coaching institute ‘Physics Wala’ to provide free coaching for competitive exams like JEE and NEET.

More than 1.8 lakh school staff

The Bhagwant Mann government has launched the Parent-Teacher Meet initiative in about 19,000 government schools, which has provided an opportunity to meet about 25 lakh parents and more than 1.8 lakh school staff to focus on the development of students. Other major reforms include overseas training programs for teachers in Finland and Singapore, mobility facilities for students and expansion of Schools of Eminence aimed at providing world-class education to the children of Punjab.
