Bayern Munich and Konrad Laimer have reached a standstill in their talks over a contract extension beyond 2027, with the Bavarians unwilling to meet the Austrian international’s reported salary demands of €12-15 million per year.

Following Bayern’s 3–3 draw against 1. FC Heidenheim on Saturday, board member for sport Max Eberl commented on the the player’s uncertain future.

“These are talks, different expectations – at the moment we’re not finding common ground. But that’s not a problem; there’s no bad blood, no tension, just two viewpoints. Now we have to see if we can find a bridge,” Eberl said.

On the possibility of Laimer leaving on a free transfer when his contract expires in the summer of 2027, Eberl added:

“He arrived on a free transfer, so we wouldn’t lose much.”
