Weather patterns will change in Delhi today, possibility of rain with strong winds
Delhi Weather Update: Heat and humidity troubled people in Delhi-NCR on Sunday. According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), the maximum temperature may drop by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius in the coming 24 hours. After this, the temperature may increase by about 2 degrees in the next 24 hours, then there is no possibility of any major change in it. There will be no significant change in the minimum temperature in the next 24 hours, whereas on June 23, it may drop by 1 to 2 degrees and later on it may increase by the same amount.
On Sunday, June 21, the maximum temperature recorded in Delhi was 38.9 degrees Celsius. At the same time, the minimum temperature was 28.8 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature recorded in Safdarjung was 38.9 degrees Celsius, while it was 41.8 degrees in the Ridge area and 38.9 degrees Celsius in Ayanagar.
Drop in maximum temperature in Delhi
In the last 24 hours, the maximum temperature has decreased by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius in many parts of Delhi, but no significant change was seen in the minimum temperature. During this period the minimum temperature was between 26 to 29 degrees and the maximum temperature was between 38 to 42 degrees Celsius. In Delhi, winds blew from south-west direction at a speed of 15 to 20 kilometers per hour. At the same time, the wind speed was recorded at 38 kilometers per hour in Palam.
Forecast of rain and storm in Delhi
According to IMD’s forecast, on Monday, June 22, the maximum temperature in Delhi can be between 37 to 39 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature can be between 25 to 27 degrees Celsius. Today there is a possibility of light cloudy sky. Light rain, thunder and lightning and storm are expected in the afternoon or evening. During this period, the wind speed can be 40 to 50 kilometers per hour, while with gusts it can reach up to 60 kilometers per hour.
Monsoon will come in July
This time monsoon may reach Delhi a little later than the normal time. Till then the movement of clouds will continue in the capital and the effect of heat may continue. According to the Meteorological Department, the south-west monsoon may reach Delhi by the first week of July, whereas normally it hits the capital around June 27. According to weather experts, the reason for this delay is the lack of favorable weather conditions to carry the rainy winds to north-west India.
