Weather took a turn in Delhi-NCR, relief from rain after dusty storm

Tezzbuzz Desk- The weather took a sudden turn in Delhi-NCR on Saturday, where dark clouds covered the sky since morning and a strong dust storm troubled people while battling the heat. After some time, the weather changed completely and light to moderate rain was recorded in many parts of the National Capital Region. Many areas including Badarpur, Tughlakabad and Faridabad received heavy rains, due to which a drop in temperature was felt and people got temporary relief from the heat.

Visibility was affected at many places due to the dust storm, due to which road traffic also slowed down for some time. However, rain showers made the weather pleasant and people heaved a sigh of relief from the heat for some time. People were seen enjoying the rain in many areas, while people who were troubled by the hot winds for a long time were feeling relieved by this change.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature of Delhi on Saturday was expected to be 44 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature would be 28 degrees Celsius. However, due to rain and clouds, a slight drop in temperature was recorded in some areas. Despite this, the Meteorological Department has warned that heat wave-like conditions may persist in the coming days and the effect of hot winds is likely to continue till May 28.

On Friday also, scorching heat was seen in Delhi and surrounding areas. The maximum temperature at Safdarjung weather station was recorded at 43.3 degrees Celsius, which was 3.1 degrees above normal. The minimum temperature was 29.3 degrees Celsius, which was 2.6 degrees more than normal. It is clear from this that the effect of heat has not subsided completely yet.

Weather experts say that the rain and dust storm seen at present is only a temporary relief. According to meteorologist Mahesh Palawat, the temperature was increasing rapidly due to hot and dry winds coming from Rajasthan and Thar Desert, but now there has been some relief due to change in the wind direction.

He said that due to the cyclonic circulation formed in the Punjab-Haryana region, there has been light rain with thunder in some parts of Delhi-NCR. However, the temperature may rise again in the coming days and the mercury is expected to reach 45 degrees Celsius.

Experts have also warned that if the wind direction again turns towards the Thar Desert, the heat wave situation may become severe again. At present, people of Delhi-NCR have been advised to be prepared for the dual effects of heat and changing weather.
