Weather will worsen in UP, chances of rain in 35+ districts

Lucknow. The weather is going to change once again in Uttar Pradesh. After the strengthening of the low pressure area formed in the Bay of Bengal, its effect has now reached eastern Uttar Pradesh. Due to this, the movement of clouds has increased in many parts of the state and the rain activities are expected to intensify in the coming hours. The Meteorological Department believes that this change will give new strength to the monsoon and can provide relief from the sultry heat that has been troubling people for the last several days.

Rainy season will start from Purvanchal

According to meteorologists, due to the effect of low pressure system, rain activities will increase first in Eastern Uttar Pradesh. There is a possibility of cloud cover in Varanasi, Mirzapur, Chandauli and surrounding areas along with strong wind, thunderstorm and moderate to heavy rain at many places. After this, this system can gradually affect other parts of the state also.

Chance of rain in more than 35 districts

The Meteorological Department has predicted rain with thunder and lightning in more than 35 districts of the state for Friday. Lucknow, Sitapur, Barabanki, Unnao, Rae Bareli, Amethi, Banda, Kanpur, Hardoi, Siddharthnagar, Maharajganj, Lakhimpur Kheri, Bahraich, Shravasti, Balrampur, Gonda, Ayodhya, Pratapgarh, Prayagraj, Kaushambi, Chitrakoot, Fatehpur, Kushinagar, Gorakhpur, Deoria, Ballia, Basti, Sant Kabir Nagar, Sant Ravidas. There is a possibility of rain and lightning in many districts including Nagar, Varanasi and Chandauli.

Heavy rain warning for these districts

The Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of heavy rain with thunder in Mirzapur, Sonbhadra and Chandauli districts. Special caution has been advised for these areas. During heavy rains, there may be a possibility of waterlogging in low-lying areas and local traffic impact.

Weather may change in western UP also

Although the intensity of rain is expected to be relatively low in western Uttar Pradesh, light to moderate rain may occur at isolated places in many districts including Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Saharanpur, Agra, Mathura, Aligarh and Mainpuri. No major weather alert has been announced for these areas at present.
