Annapurna Yojana: When will the money come to the account? Apply like this; No installment will stop!

Annapurna Yojana: West Bengal government approved Annapurna Yojana this week. The scheme will replace the Lakshmi Bhandar scheme, which provides money assistance to women every month, and will be implemented next month. After a cabinet meeting at the State Secretariat, Nabanna, Minister Agnimitra Paul announced at a press conference that the Annapurna scheme, which provides money assistance of ₹3,000 every month to women, will be launched from June 1. Free travel for women in government buses has also been approved.

In a notification issued by the Women and Child Development and Social Welfare Department, it has been said that to avail the benefits of this scheme, certain conditions will have to be fulfilled.

How much help will be provided under this scheme?

Under Annapurna Yojana, all eligible women will get ₹3,000 every month. Earlier, women used to get ₹1,500 every month under the Lakshmi Bhandar scheme of the Trinamool Congress government.

Who can apply?

  • Women between 25 to 60 years of age can apply for this scheme. However, some conditions have been set.
  • A woman should not be a permanent government employee.
  • He should not be getting salary or pension.
  • She should not be an income tax payer.

Minister Agnimitra Paul also said that women who have applied for citizenship under CAA or have approached the tribunal to get their names added in the voter list, will also get the benefit of this scheme.

How to apply?

The government will launch a dedicated online portal from June 1, where new applicants can apply. According to the notification, the application will be verified by authorized government officials or Kolkata Municipal Corporation.

How to get money?

This scheme will be implemented from June 1. The government will send the money directly to the beneficiary’s Aadhaar-linked bank account through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.

What will happen to those who come under Lakshmi Bhandar Scheme?

Existing beneficiaries of Lakshmi Bhandar Yojana will automatically join Annapurna Yojana. However, those whose names have been removed from the voter list, who have died, who have migrated, or who are found to be duplicates, may be excluded. The government has made it clear that the names of beneficiaries who have died or have moved to another place will continue to be removed regularly in future.
