Under the proposed Annapurna Bhandar Scheme, eligible women will be given financial assistance of ₹3,000 every month in their bank accounts. This scheme is expected to start on June 1, 2026. What is Annapurna Bhandar Scheme 2026?

The Annapurna Bhandar Scheme proposed in West Bengal is being considered as a new welfare scheme for women. Under this scheme, eligible women of the state will get financial assistance of ₹ 3,000 every month directly into their bank accounts through DBT. However, the state government has not yet issued any official announcement, website or application process for this scheme.

It is reported that this amount can be almost double the women assistance scheme of the previous TMC government. In such a situation, this scheme can prove to be a big relief for women and low income families.

Why is this scheme being started?

This scheme is being considered as a big election promise made during the 2026 West Bengal Assembly elections. It is also expected that this scheme can replace the existing Lakshmi Bhandar Scheme.

The main objective of this scheme is to make women financially strong. The government wants that women can manage household expenses, children’s needs and important health needs without any financial problems. This is expected to especially help low income families.

Who can apply?

The government has not yet released official eligibility criteria, but there may be some conditions:

  • The applicant must be a woman.
  • It may be necessary to be a permanent resident of West Bengal.
  • The family should be from economically weak or low income group.
  • Age should be more than 25 years.
  • BPL/AAY/PHH ration card holders can get priority.

Once the scheme starts, the following documents may be required at the time of application:

Step 3: Enter your mobile number and verify with OTP.

Step 4: Fill in the application form with your and your family’s information.

Step 5: Upload required documents.

Step 6: After submitting the form, save the application number.

Step 7: Then the department will verify the documents.

What is the offline application process?

Those who are not able to apply online can apply by visiting the nearby block office, municipal office or government camp. They will fill the application form and submit the required documents. A receipt will be given upon submission of the application, and then the verification process will be completed.
