The entire structure of the company is changing due to AI

Zuckerberg believes that AI tools have completely changed the way work is done in the tech industry. The tasks which earlier took months for big teams to complete are now being done by a few engineers in a very short time. For this reason, Meta is now focusing on smaller and more productive teams. Such a structure is being created in the company where work can be done faster with fewer people instead of big teams.

Meta is currently making record investments in areas such as data centers, custom chips and AI model training. According to the company’s financial head Susan Li, the expenditure on infrastructure has increased significantly compared to last year, which has put pressure on the company’s budget. It is believed that to reduce this pressure, a decision has been taken to lay off employees on a large scale.

The effect of these changes is visible inside the company also. AI based systems have been implemented to monitor employee activities and performance. This has increased the atmosphere of insecurity and tension among the employees. At the same time, the debate has also intensified in the tech industry whether AI will help humans in the coming times or will become the biggest threat to their jobs.
