West Bengal: Chief Minister Shubhendu Adhikari paid tribute to Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee on his death anniversary.
Said, “He was a patriot, scholar and statesman who dedicated his life to the development of India.”
Kolkata, (Language) West Bengal Chief Minister Subhendu Adhikari on Tuesday paid tribute to the founder of Bharatiya Jan Sangh, Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee on his death anniversary.
He paid floral tributes to the statue of Mukherjee at the Ortala crematorium in South Kolkata. On this occasion, State Finance Minister Swapan Dasgupta and Industries Minister Tapas Roy were also present with him. Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi while paying tribute to Mukherjee said that his unwavering devotion in public life, Courage and dedication to the national cause will continue to inspire generations.
Modi social media platform ‘x‘ but said in a post, ”On Martyrdom Day, I pay tribute to Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee. He is a distinguished patriot, was a scholar and politician, Who dedicated his life to the development of India. His unwavering loyalty in public life, Courage and commitment to the national cause will continue to inspire generations.”
BJP West Bengal unit president Samik Bhattacharya also paid floral tributes at Mukherjee’s statue here. Dr. Mukherjee passes away 23 june, 1953 He was born under mysterious circumstances in a jail in Srinagar. He was arrested for entering Jammu and Kashmir without a permit.
