Suvendu Adhikari On Jahangir Khan: The new Chief Minister of West Bengal, Subhendu Adhikari has launched a scathing attack on Trinamool Congress and Abhishek Banerjee. He was addressing a public meeting on Saturday before the by-election to be held on Falta Assembly seat under Diamond Harbor Lok Sabha constituency. While addressing a big rally, CM Suvendu made many big announcements regarding security, law and order and corruption. This was his first public meeting in this area as Chief Minister.
‘Pushpa’ Leave it to me – CM
Targeting TMC candidate from Falta seat Jahangir Khan, Suvendu Adhikari termed him a notorious criminal. The Chief Minister said that on the 2019 post-poll violence, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) had released a list of the 19 most notorious criminals of the state. Suvendu Adhikari further said that this Jahangir Khan, who grew up under the protection of his nephew (Abhishek Banerjee), was included in the same list. Now this so-called ‘Pushpa’ Leave it to me, who is no longer visible anywhere. He is now my responsibility and I will look after his case myself.

I appeal to the voters of Falta to make the BJP candidate victorious by a margin of more than 1 lakh votes. Along with this, he appealed to the workers not to take law into their hands and ensure peaceful voting.

Why are elections being held again in Falta?
The Election Commission had canceled the voting held on April 29 in Falta following complaints of serious irregularities such as tampering with EVMs and intimidation of voters. Here West Bengal Assembly Elections Voting was held in the second phase on 29 April. Now voting on this seat will take place on May 21. Whereas, counting of votes will take place on May 24.
