What did the Chief Electoral Officer say before counting of votes?
Before the counting of votes, state Chief Electoral Officer Manoj Kumar Aggarwal said, “The arrangements are the same everywhere, there is no sensitive or non-sensitive counting centre. There is a three-tier security arrangement. Apart from CAPFs, armed police and state police are also deployed. All kinds of arrangements are complete. There is no problem.”
On West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s allegations, he said, “Power cut is not in the hands of the Election Commission. It is under the electricity department. I have made all requests to the electricity department to ensure uninterrupted power supply. Generators are also available, there will be no problem.”
