CM Shubhendu Adhikari’s big gift to the youth in Bengal, took this important decision regarding government jobs

West Bengal: In West Bengal, the government of Chief Minister Shubhendu Adhikari has given a big gift to the youth. Now the maximum age limit for recruitment in government services has been officially increased. In this regard, an important notification has been issued by the Audit Branch of the State Finance Department. After this new order, now the avenues of getting government jobs have opened again for lakhs of youth of the state. This decision of the government will benefit the most those candidates who had crossed the age of appearing for the examination due to lack of vacancy for the last several years. For this, the government has made a major amendment in the West Bengal Service (Increased Age Limit) Rules 1981.

New age limit fixed for Group A and B posts

According to the official order issued by the Finance Department, new age limits have now been set for different categories of posts. The government notification states that the maximum age limit for direct recruitment to Group A posts has been increased to 41 years. Along with this, the government has also made it clear that there will be no change in the rules for special posts or services for which the maximum age limit is already more than 41 years and it will continue to operate as per the old system. Apart from this, orders have been given to increase the maximum age limit for recruitment to Group B posts to 44 years.

Group C and D candidates got the biggest relief

In this new government amendment, the biggest relief has been given to the candidates preparing for Group C and Group D jobs. The government has announced that now the maximum age limit for both Group C and Group D posts has been increased to 45 years. Along with this, it has also been further added in the order that in those recruitments which are outside the scope of West Bengal Public Service Commission, i.e. those which are done under the State Statutory Bodies, Government Companies and Local Authorities Rules 1999, the maximum age limit for the candidates will also be considered to be 45 years only. This new rule of the government will be considered applicable in the entire state from May 11.

First step towards providing employment to youth

After the recent assembly elections in West Bengal, the political scenario has completely changed. The new government formed under the leadership of Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari has taken a decision on this big issue related to the youth as soon as it took charge. After the big victory in the election results, the government’s focus is on increasing employment opportunities in the state and speeding up the recruitment processes. For a long time, the youth of the state were demanding to fill the vacant posts in government departments and start the stuck recruitments. This step of the government is being considered as a big and effective decision in that direction.

Efforts to remove the deadlock in recruitment

Recruitment examinations could not be conducted regularly in the state for the last several years, due to which a large number of qualified and educated candidates had reached the next stage of life without appearing in the examination. With this extension of age limit, now all those youth have got a new lease of life. This initiative of the government will help in filling thousands of vacant posts in various departments in a transparent manner. The administration believes that by increasing the age limit, more and more talented youth will get an opportunity to participate in the competition, due to which the quality of government work will also improve.
