Recently, during the voter list revision, a large number of pending voters were revealed in these districts.

Barbed wire fence will be installed in 18 kilometers

New fencing will be done in 18 km of the 27 km land given by the government. BSF posts, roads and other security structures will be built in the remaining nine kilometer area. It was told that West Bengal shares about 2200 km border with Bangladesh, in which 600 km area is still unfenced.

BSF Director General Praveen Kumar welcomed the decision of the state government and said that this is a big step for border security. The Chief Minister said that strong surveillance on the border is very important for national security and more land transfers will be done in future.
