West Bengal: PM Modi stopped at Jhalmuri stall after election rally in Jhargram, tasted traditional dishes
Kolkata, 19 April. There are only three days left for the first phase of voting (April 23) in the West Bengal Assembly elections and all the political parties have put all their strength into the campaign. In this sequence, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held four election rallies in the state on Sunday.
During this, an interesting scene was seen after Prime Minister Modi’s election rally in Jhargram, when after addressing the public meeting, he suddenly stopped at a Jhalmuri stall on the way and also tasted the traditional dish of Bengal.

PM Modi shared pictures and video of his stop at Jhalmuri shop on his official X account. PM’s post is becoming increasingly viral on social media. Due to the sudden stop of the PM’s convoy, a huge crowd of people gathered there. In the post shared, the PM wrote, ‘Enjoying some delicious spicy Jhalmudi in Jhargram in between four public meetings in West Bengal on Sunday.’ The PM also gave Rs 10 to the shopkeeper who set up the stall.

In fact, after finishing the meeting in Jhargram, when PM Modi was going towards the helipad, he suddenly stopped the car and went to Jhalmuri stall situated on the roadside. There he ate fresh Jhalmuri and also gave it to the children standing nearby. During this time, he also talked to nearby women and stayed there for some time. Jhalmuri’s cart belonged to Vikram Sah, a resident of Gaya district of Bihar, who has been running a shop in Jhargram for the last 12 years.

While addressing a public meeting in the tribal dominated area of Jhargram, PM Modi took a sharp dig at the ruling Trinamool Congress and accused it of being ‘anti-tribal’ and ‘anti-women’. Addressing the Vijay Sankalp Sabha, he alleged that the state government has ignored important local issues like illegal land occupation. He also said that the voices of the tribal community and women in the region have been continuously suppressed and ignored.
