What is the meaning of the meeting between Swami Prasad Maurya and Chandrashekhar Azad? Third front can be formed in the state

Lucknow. Political turmoil has increased in Uttar Pradesh before the start of assembly elections. There is speculation about the formation of a third front before the elections in the state. Its speculation has increased further after the meeting between former cabinet minister and Apni Janata Party chief Swami Prasad Maurya and Azad Samaj Party President Chandrashekhar Azad. Although Swami Prasad Maurya has described this meeting as formal, this meeting has many political implications. Earlier, Owaisi had also hinted about the third front.

In fact, there are about eight months left for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections 2027 and after this meeting, speculations about new equations and formation of a third front in the politics of the state have intensified. Actually, the threat of Swami Prasad Maurya is visible in the politics of Uttar Pradesh. He has a large number of supporters in every district. In such a situation, he can exert his influence in many assemblies.

Before forming his Janata Party, Swami Prasad Maurya had also been a part of many political parties. He played important roles in Lok Dal, Janata Dal, Bahujan Samaj Party, Bharatiya Janata Party and Samajwadi Party. Before the 2022 assembly elections, he left BJP and joined Samajwadi Party. However, after the defeat in the elections, he formed the Rashtriya Shoshit Samaj Party in 2024. Later the name of the party was changed to Apni Janata Party (AJP).
