Virat Kohli is having the time of his life as his unbeaten innings against Gujarat Titans (GT) on Sunday helped Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) lift another Indian Premier League (IPL) trophy. In fact, Kohli scored his fastest half-century in his 19-year-old IPL career, which came off just 25 balls. He remained unbeaten on 75 runs and also hit the winning shot of the IPL 2026 final at the famous Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Now that the IPL is officially over, Kohli’s fans are wondering when they will be able to see him in action again.

When will Virat Kohli return to action after IPL 2026?

After successfully defending the IPL title, Virat Kohli is going to be seen in action sooner than you think. Yes, you read it right! Indian ‘run machine’ Rohit Sharma is part of the Indian squad for the 3-match ODI series against Afghanistan.

The first ODI match against Afghanistan will be played on June 13 at the beautiful Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Stadium in Dharamshala. The next match will be played on June 17 at Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow. The third and last ODI match will be played on June 20 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Team India will also play a Test match before the start of the ODI series, which will begin on June 6 and will be played at the Maharaja Yadvinder Singh International Cricket Stadium, New Chandigarh.

Kohli was one of the leading run-scorers this season, scoring 675 runs in 16 matches at an average of 56.25. These figures include one unbeaten century and five half-centuries.
