Prime Minister Modi was born on 17 September 1950 in Vadnagar, Gujarat. This year, along with his birthday, completion of 25 years of public service as an elected representative has also been mentioned.

Blessing lamp will be lit in Delhi

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, while wishing Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his birthday, said on Thursday that under his leadership the capital is moving forward with new momentum, new strength and new confidence. The BJP and the Delhi government will organize various programs in the national capital under the 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan' from September 17 to October 17 to mark Prime Minister Modi's completion of 25 years as an elected representative. Under Ashirwad ka Diya, 1.25 lakh lamps will be lit on the duty path of Delhi on Thursday evening. The event will be dedicated to the Prime Minister's service, dedication and commitment towards nation building on the occasion of his completion of 25 years as the elected representative.

Earlier, Gupta has appealed to every family of Delhi to light a lamp as part of the campaign between 6 pm to 7 pm on Thursday and pray for Modi's good health, longevity and continued strength in the service of Maa Bharati. On the occasion of Modi's birthday, the Delhi government is also organizing a huge blood donation camp at Thyagaraj Stadium and 108 Kundiya Yagya at Khatu Shyam Dilli Dham and will start 'Namo Shramik Seva Kendra' for the workers.

Piyush Goyal called PM Modi 'Karmayogi'

Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal described Prime Minister Modi as 'Karmayogi' and said that he has dedicated every moment of his life to national service and public welfare.

Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya underlined Modi's sensitivity and his personal connect with the people and party workers.

Modi, who has been Prime Minister since 2014, is a Lok Sabha MP from Varanasi.
