New Delhi: US Vice President JD Vance said in a light-hearted tone during the US-Iran talks in Switzerland on Sunday that the two most important people in his life are an Indian and a Pakistani. Vance told that the Indian is his wife Usha Vance and the Pakistani is Field Marshal Asim Munir.

Technical talks are going on in Switzerland

According to media reports, Vance said that technical aspects of the talks are still being discussed. It may not resolve every difference, but for the first time all parties are sitting at one table. This is helping in understanding which issues are most important for which country and how to solve them.

He said that the political leadership is present here so that the negotiation teams get full support and any hurdles can be resolved immediately. According to Vance, good progress has been made in the last few hours and all parties are positive about the process.

Trump wants permanent peace in the entire Middle East

The Vice President said President Donald Trump is committed to a permanent ceasefire throughout the Middle East. He admitted that implementing a ceasefire is not easy, but there has been success in keeping the situation stable in Lebanon in the last few days. Trump has given Vance the authority to seek a fresh start and a diplomatic solution.

Vance believes that if all countries work together then the path to peace and prosperity can be opened. He also said that Iran has been the cause of regional instability for a long time, but now efforts are being made to change the situation through diplomacy.

Iran placed condition regarding nuclear

Before the talks began, Iranian President Masoud Pejshkian said that Tehran would give a written assurance to the US that it would not make a nuclear bomb. In return, America has agreed to return $6 billion of funds frozen in Qatar’s banks to Iran.

A trilateral meeting was also held between representatives of the US and Iran under the mediation of Qatar. Vance said the biggest question is whether relations in the Middle East can be permanently changed. Talks are still going on and it is expected that concrete results will emerge in the coming days.
