Nihang Jasdeep Singh Controversy Created an uproar after an alleged obscene picture with a person went viral.

A dispute that started among the Nihang groups belonging to the Sikh community has now become the cause of major controversy and debate on social media. The matter became more heated when on June 27, a Nihang Sikh named Vicky Thomas Singh posted a video on Instagram and made serious allegations against Jasdeep Singh.

In the video, Vicky Thomas Singh directly cornered Jasdeep Singh and said that he has some pictures, in which Jasdeep is shown in an objectionable position with another person. Vicky shared these pictures by blurring them and claimed that this behavior is against the dignity of Sikh religion.

Jasdeep Singh’s answer and confession

The controversy increased further when Jasdeep Singh admitted in the video that the pictures were his. He said, ‘Yes, this is my photo, I accept it.’ Although he later called it a mistake, Vicky Thomas Singh termed it not just a ‘mistake’ but a ‘religious crime’ and demanded strict action.

Vicky Thomas Singh alleged that Jasdeep Singh was doing wrong by wearing Nihang attire and using religious identity. He said that a person who indulges in such behavior ‘in the name of Guru’ harms the religious image.

Funding and money allegations

The controversy did not stop here. Vicky also alleged that Jasdeep Singh is collecting money from people in the name of religion. He claimed that Jasdeep asked for funds for travel and other activities by giving UPI details and appealed to the people not to give him money.

Demand to go to Panj Pyare

Vicky Thomas Singh also said that in such cases one should religiously answer by appearing before “Panch Pyare”. His allegation was that Jasdeep did not listen to him and kept avoiding religious accountability.

Vicky Thomas Singh presents himself as a Nihang Sikh and social-political activist. He claims that he converted to Sikhism after 2020 and adopted Nihang identity. He is very active on social media and keeps posting videos on religious, political and social issues. His name also came into discussion during the farmers’ movement.

His name has already been linked to many controversies, which are said to include cases like the violence in Delhi during the farmers’ protest in 2021 and the clashes between Nihang groups in the Golden Temple area in 2023.

In June, there was a dispute over parking between the Nihang group returning from Hemkund Sahib and the local people. The matter escalated so much that swords came out and the police had to intervene. After this, many Nihangs were arrested and Jasdeep Singh along with his supporters had come to protest before the administration.
