The teaser trailer adopts the same style the director used in one of his previous projects, evoking nostalgia among viewers.
On X, the Wife and Dog trailer has been compared to Ritchie’s The Gentlemen, both the 2019 film and the 2024 Netflix series. Ritchie’s Wife and Dog trailer brings the same style as The Gentlemen, with its sharp-suited characters and thriller elements. Just like other projects directed and created by Ritchie, the film contains the director’s signature storyline, which taps into the British aristocracy and criminal underworld.
The official synopsis reads, “The relentless greed of the Fairbank family and their associates who fuel betrayal and murder in the battle for succession.” Alongside Cumberbatch, the movie also stars Rosamund Pike, Cosmo Jarvis, James Norton, Paddy Considine, and Anthony Hopkins.
Ritchie also served as a producer for the movie with Ivan Atkinson and John Friedberg. Executive producers include Volodymyr Artemenko, Michael Heimler, Louise Killin, Llewellyn Radley, Teddy Schwarzman, and Yevgen Stupka.
Wife and Dog is scheduled to be released in United States theaters on February 19, 2027.
