Why did Kiran Rao and Reena Dutta not attend Aamir Khan’s third marriage? Friend told the real reason

New Delhi: On July 6, Aamir Khan married Gauri Spratt for the third time. The wedding took place at home in Mumbai amidst close friends and family. Wedding pictures and videos went viral on social media, but Aamir’s first two wives Reena Dutta and Kiran Rao were not seen in them. Since then people were questioning why both were not at the wedding. Now Aamir’s close friend has unveiled this secret.

Kiran Rao was out of the country!  

Aamir’s friend and ‘Lagaan’ actor Amin Haji was a witness to the wedding. While talking to Rediff, he told that Kiran Rao was not in India at that time. According to Amin, "Kiran was in the United Kingdom at that time. Azad had come to India from UK for marriage." That means, due to schedule, she could not attend this special occasion.

Reason for Reena Dutta’s absence   

On Reena Dutta’s absence, Amin said that there is no drama behind every absence. Sometimes giving space is also a way of showing respect. He said, "I think some absences are natural. You don’t want to make anyone feel uncomfortable on such an important occasion." Amin indicated that Reena respected Aamir and Gauri’s privacy by deliberately maintaining a distance.

All three still work together   

Amin clarified that not coming to the wedding does not mean that the relationship is bad. He told that Aamir, Kiran and Reena are still working together professionally. Amin said, "Aamir, Satya Bhatkal, Kiran and Reena work together through Paani Foundation. There is a healthy relationship between them."  

On how the wedding was, Amin told that there was no big function or music. "We spent time together, talked, laughed and enjoyed each other’s company. It was a very simple and private wedding."  

Aamir’s marriage timeline  

Aamir had introduced Gauri to the media as his girlfriend on his 60th birthday. His first marriage was with Reena Dutta in 1986 which lasted till 2002. Then he got married to Kiran Rao in 2005 and in 2021 both of them announced their separation.

Even after separation, Aamir and Kiran remained friends. For this reason, fans were hopeful that she would be seen at the wedding. But it is clear from the statement of the friend that both of them kept distance for their own reasons.
