Why Egypt is not joining “Muslim NATO”! What game is India playing in Africa?

The year is 1956. British-French military forces were advancing to take possession of the Suez Canal. On the other hand, Israeli armored vehicles headed for Sinai. India condemned this military action against Egypt. Delhi also advocated Egypt's right to Suez. After 5 years in 1961, India started a military operation to free Goa from Portuguese occupation. At that time, Egypt stood in the way of the Portuguese army advancing through the Suez Canal. These are just two examples. There are many such examples in the decades of friendship between New Delhi and Cairo. In the midst of this situation, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Türkiye have recently formed a military alliance (the Makkah Agreement). Waqibhal is claiming it as 'Islamic NATO'. Speculation has begun that Egypt may join as the fourth country. But the 'Land of Pyramids' has yet to say anything about it. It is assumed that Egypt is not particularly interested in such an alliance against friendly India. Besides, this alliance can turn the country's diplomatic calculations upside down. Keeping everything in mind, the country thinks it is wise to avoid 'Islamic NATO'.

The main condition of the Islamic alliance made by Saudi, Pakistan and Turkey is that if any one of these three countries is attacked, then the other two countries will consider this attack as an attack on themselves. As such, the target of this alliance is India on the opposite side of Pakistan, Greece and Cyprus on the opposite side of Turkey. Besides, the main target of the alliance will be towards countries like Iran and Israel. Egypt's objection is right there. Cairo's good relations with each country will become a major obstacle to alliance terms. From India's point of view, since the events of 1956 and 1961, the diplomatic relations between the two countries have been strong. By 2023, Cairo-Delhi are working hand in hand in strategic areas. Besides, there are currently more than 700 Indian companies in Egypt, with an investment of 5.5 billion dollars. Where more than 40 thousand people of Egypt work. Trade between the two countries was $6.5 billion in the last financial year. As a result, Egypt does not want to cheat India in any way.

Egypt will have to take a position against Iran, Houthis, Israel, United Arab Emirates, Greece, Cyprus and India if it goes to Mecca agreement.

Not only India, but from the perspective of the Middle East, Saudi Arabia does not want Egypt to join this alliance. Because, in 2013, Saudi Arabia gave 25 billion dollars in aid to the Egyptian government. However, it is alleged that Saudi did not get help in that way. Egypt had no action against the Houthis in Yemen. As a result, according to Saudi, Pakistan and Turkey are suitable for alliance. Besides, reports say that Egypt has a military agreement with the United Arab Emirates. Since 1973, they have been bound by an agreement with Israel. On the other hand, Greece and Cyprus, which are in conflict with Turkey, are good friends of Egypt. In this situation, Egypt will have to take a position against Iran, Houthi, Israel, United Arab Emirates, Greece, Cyprus and India if they go to the 'Mecca Agreement'.

The heads of state of the three countries entered into a military agreement in Mecca.

According to diplomatic circles, India and Egypt formed the NAM (Non-Aligned Movement) during the Cold War between America and Russia. They are walking on the same path in the case of Makkah agreement. Cairo wants to maintain friendly relations with everyone without walking on the streets of America vs. Iran, Saudi vs. Amirshahi, Türkiye vs. Greece or Pakistan vs. India. As a result, Egypt is not saying 'no' outright. Egypt says, 'Not now'.

However, Türkiye wants the African country Egypt to join this alliance. Because Egypt currently has 4.4 million soldiers. The country owns the Suez Canal, the trade route between Europe and Asia. Egypt's military armed with US weapons. As a result, Egypt is one of the greatest strategic powers on the battlefield. But in the recent situation, it is not Islamic passion, but intelligent Egypt that is more interested in stepping in.
