Indian cricket team wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant has expressed his desire to build a house in his home state of Uttarakhand. He publicly appealed to Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami for assistance in the land purchase process. Chief Minister Dhami has now assured Pant that the state government will provide all possible assistance within the established regulations.
Rishabh Pant is currently in Sri Lanka with the Indian team, where India is scheduled to play a two-Test series. Early Saturday morning, Pant shared his concerns on the social media platform X, tagging Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. The 28-year-old said he has been searching for land for the past three years where he could shift base from Delhi to Uttarakhand and build his first home. Pant explained his intention behind this appeal to reconnect with his roots and contribute to his home state.
What did Rishabh write?
He wrote, “I’m trying to buy land to shift my base from Delhi to Uttarakhand, and I haven’t been able to find a comfortable and spacious place to live here. I love my Uttarakhand.” Pant then made a direct appeal to the Chief Minister to help with the land purchase process.
He said, “My humble request is, please help me buy land… I want to return to my native place, do something for Uttarakhand, and contribute to its development. I want to be back among my hill people. Please look into this matter; it’s been three years.”
What did CM Dhami say?
Responding to Pant’s post, Pushkar Singh Dhami welcomed his desire to return to Uttarakhand. He also praised Pant’s contributions to cricket and his bringing glory to Uttarakhand. Dhami wrote, “Dear Rishabh, you are the pride of Uttarakhand. With your outstanding performances and achievements, you have brought glory to the land of Gods in the country and the world.”
The Chief Minister also praised Pant’s desire to contribute to his state after making a name for himself in international cricket. He said, “Your love for your motherland and your desire to come back and contribute is highly commendable.”

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the matter raised by Pant has been forwarded to the relevant authorities. The officials will contact Pant soon. Dhami said, “Instructions are being issued to the relevant officials regarding the matter you have raised. They will contact you soon and ensure all possible cooperation as per the rules.”
Rishabh Pant had also clarified in his original appeal that he was not seeking free land from the government. He stated that he wanted to purchase the land from the government and would pay the applicable government rate.
Pant wrote, “It would be nice to receive a gift for representing my state at the international level, but if you permit, I would like to buy it from the government at their prescribed rates.”
