He alleged that Delhi Police used excessive force against the peacefully protesting students. According to Mamata, the protesters were lathicharged, pellet guns were used and tear gas shells were fired, which cannot be accepted in any democratic system.
Many questions raised on the central government
Mamta Banerjee asked the central government why the government is so uncomfortable with a peaceful democratic movement. He also alleged that internet services were shut down around the protest site and strict action was taken against the students.
He said that instead of answering questions related to the future of lakhs of students, the government is busy protecting those responsible, then it is extremely worrying. According to him, the government should explain why it is so eager to protect the Education Minister.
‘The opposition stands with the students’
Mamta Banerjee said in her statement that the entire opposition stands strongly with the students and youth. Praising the courage and courage of the agitating students, he said that they are fighting for their rights despite fear and pressure. He described the students’ struggle as a fight for democracy and justice.
