Delhi: The first match of the two-Test series between West Indies and Pakistan is being played in Trinidad. In reply to the 311 runs scored by West Indies in the first innings, Pakistan team was all out for 282 runs. In this way the host team got a significant lead of 29 runs on the basis of first innings. For Pakistan, captain Shan Masood scored a brilliant century, while for West Indies, Justin Greaves changed the course of the match by taking five wickets.

Pakistan’s first innings was limited to 282 runs

By the end of the second day’s play, Pakistan was in a strong position. The team had scored 199 runs at the loss of 3 wickets. However, on the third day, the West Indies bowlers made a brilliant comeback and completely destroyed Pakistan’s batting.

Pakistan got the fourth blow in the form of Salman Agha on the score of 244 runs. He scored 20 runs in 60 balls. After this, the sequence of wickets continued and the team lost its last 7 wickets within adding just 38 runs.

Batsmen like Mohammad Rizwan (12), Aamer Jamal (3) and Ali Usman (0) could not play big innings. In the end, Khurram Shahzad and Mohammad Ali made a small but useful partnership of 15 runs. If Shan Masood had not played a brilliant inning of 109 runs, it would have been difficult for Pakistan to reach 200 runs.

Justin Greaves opened his paw for the first time

Justin Greaves was the most successful bowler for West Indies. He played the biggest role in wrapping up Pakistan’s innings by taking 5 wickets.
