Will Diljit Dosanjh’s film ‘Sutlej’ return on OTT? Petition filed in Punjab-Haryana High Court

Actor and singer Diljit Dosanjh’s film ‘Sutlej’ was released on OTT platform Zee5 on 3 July 2026. But this movie was removed from the digital platform on July 5, 2026, regarding which Zee5 had also issued a statement. Zee5 had said in its statement that the film is being removed from India till further orders. Let us tell you that the film was first released in India. But later the film has also been removed from the ZEE5 International Library. This clearly means that now you will not find the film anywhere on the OTT platform.

When was Diljit’s ‘Sutlej’ released?

After the removal of the film ‘Sutlej’, Diljit Dosanjh had also shared a post on Instagram. However, the struggle to bring back the film has intensified. A petition has also been filed in the Punjab and Haryana High Court to re-release this movie on OTT. Talking to ‘IANS’, lawyer Hakam Singh said that ZEE5 subscriber Shravan Singh has filed the petition. He says that by removing the film from ZEE5, freedom of expression and speech has been violated. Diljit Dosanjh’s film Sutlej was released on ZEE5 platform on 3 July, which was removed on 5 July. This petition has been filed in the Punjab and Haryana High Court. In this petition, there has been a violation of Article 19, which guarantees speech and expression of one’s views. The petitioner has demanded that the film Satluj be re-released on the OTT platform.

Who filed the petition

Advocate Hakam Singh further said that the petitioners have also raised questions on the grounds on which the film has been removed without any information and transparent conclusion. He was also told that the Center has formed a three-member committee to investigate this. However, no public answer has emerged as to why the film has been removed. The same lawyer did not say that we hope that this petition can be heard on the next working day. Now it will be interesting to see whether Diljit Dosanjh’s film Waapaas gets released on OTT or not.
