Winds will blow at a speed of 80 km, heavy rain is expected in these states
Monsoon has once again become fully active across the country. The low pressure area formed in the Bay of Bengal has changed the weather pattern, due to which heavy rains have started in 17 states from North India to the Northeast. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that heavy to very heavy rainfall may occur over eastern and northeastern India as well as the western Himalayan regions for the next 7 days. During this period, the wind speed can reach 40 to 80 kilometers per hour, which can affect life.
Alert in these 17 states
The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of light to heavy rain in a total of 17 states including Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Gujarat, West Bengal, Assam, Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra. This system formed in the Bay of Bengal will move towards North Odisha and Ganga plains in the next two days, due to which the intensity of rain will increase further.
How will the weather be in Delhi-UP?
The people of Delhi may have to struggle a little more with the humidity and heat. Today, on July 17, there will be clouds over the sky of the capital and the maximum temperature can go up to 39 degrees Celsius. However, there are signs of relief in the weather from July 18 and a period of rain with thunderstorms may begin. Talking about Uttar Pradesh, there is a possibility of rain today in many districts of Eastern UP including Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Basti and Siddharthnagar. An alert of very heavy rain has been issued in western and eastern UP between July 19 and 22.
Condition of Bihar, Rajasthan and hill states
Widespread rainfall is expected in Bihar between July 17 and 21. Today there may be heavy rain in Banka and West Champaran, while there is a warning of bad weather in Patna and surrounding districts on July 18. Intermittent rain will continue in Rajasthan also till July 22. Talking about the hilly states, there is an alert of ‘very heavy rain’ in Himachal and Uttarakhand between July 18 and 22, in view of which the administration has advised people to remain alert.

The Meteorological Department has also issued a warning of thunder and lightning in the hilly areas and plains. Citizens are appealed to avoid unnecessary travel during heavy rains and take shelter in safe places.
